After many months of lockdown in NYC due to coronavirus, the street art world came together for an incredible new mural painting in Midtown Manhattan NYC. In honor of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, this is the first mural of the global UN75 Murals series, reflecting on the dreams of 1 million people and sdg’s, created in collaboration with UN75 @join_un75 and @kashi part of Kellogg’s @kelloggus, a UN Global Compact member. The stunning new mural is located in Midtown Manhattan at 243 East 44th Street in NYC.

The United Nations teamed up with Street Art for Mankind to create a series of murals around the world highlighting the UN75 global conversation, the global challenges that we are all facing, and the SDGs.

In 2020, the UN surveyed over 1 million people on what issues mattered most to them in the future; these huge murals made by prominent artists reflect on people’s top priorities.

The first mural is the Zero Hunger Mural in NYC made by prominent Street Artist Emmanuel Jarus. It reflects a world where everyone has access to the food they need and the vision of zero hunger by 2030 (SDG 2). It is made possible by Kashi, part of Kellogg’s, a UN Global Compact ring this pandemic. Street Art for Mankind’s free App “Behind the Wall®” enables the public to scan the mural – or a picture of it – to hear the stories and engage with the art even from home.

Street Art for Mankind is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization uniting prominent street artists from around the world to free children from forced labor and slavery. 100% of the funds they raise go to awareness campaigns and actions on the field to save children, especially the raid and rescue programs operated by the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi and its KSCF Foundation.
