If you’re looking for half marathons in the U.S., this directory includes the biggest half marathons around the country as well as some of the smaller races with great finisher ratings. Wherever you live, you can find a half marathon race near you with this list of upcoming races. Half marathons are popular distance races that test your stamina and endurance and offer a greater challenge than running 5Ks or 10Ks. A half marathon is 13.1 miles or 21 kilometers, which is half the distance of a full marathon. Here are the best half marathons around the United States in 2025. From trail races to city adventures, these events include something for everyone. The directory includes the race names, key details, with an event date for each race, and registration links.

Training for a Half Marathon

When you’re searching for half marathons to sign up for, consider how much time you’ll have to train. Also consider how many half marathon participants there will be and what size race you enjoy. The number of reviews can also give you an idea of how popular a race is. Check race-day weather data as well so you know what kind of conditions you'll likely have on race day.

When picking your half marathons, give yourself enough time to train. In general, it takes 2 to 4 months to train for a half marathon, depending on your fitness level and race goals.
