Find Art For Your Runs with Murals and Street Art (MASA) App
By Marnie Kunz
The Murals and Street Art (MASA) app, created by Chicago Art Runner and tech whiz Austin Hutchinson, is the perfect way to do your own Art Run and join us on a Virtual Art Run! You can check out murals in the app and plan your run as well as upload your street art photos from your local runs. Whether you want to find new artists, learn about local murals, or plan a new route with more street art, MASA is the perfect guide to the murals in your city.
In addition to checking out street art in the app, you can participate and help build the art map. When you upload photos to the MASA app, the app will automatically geo tag the location of the mural where you took the photos. Make sure to capture the artist’s name so you can add it to the photos as much as possible as well.
The Murals and Street Art app launched in Atlanta and Chicago and now has street art in many other U.S. cities as well, including LA, NYC, Miami, San Francisco, Boston, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, and also Canada, in Toronto. For those competitive people out there or video gamers, there is also a leaderboard in the Murals and Street Art app and you get a point for each mural that you add to the app. I already added dozens of murals in NYC, moving on up the ranks!
Help us build the app and learn about amazing murals in your city with MASA. The MASA app is also a central part of our Virtual Art Runs, so download Find MASA today and check it out!
