Runstreet has gone to the dogs with the Paws and Walls Run and Walk for Rescue! Bring your furry friends or make some at the event as we run 5K (3.1 miles) or walk 1 mile to see Chicago's best murals and support rescue dogs. Half of all in-person ticket proceeds and 100% of all virtual ticket proceeds will go directly to B.E.A.R. — Big East Akita Rescue. The in-person event will be at Grant Park's Buckingham Fountain (meet on the west side) and will go through the South Loop's Wabash Arts Corridor.

Gather to meet other Art Runners, dog lovers, and friends at beautiful Grant Park at 9 am. There will be a mobile bag drop available. The run and walk will kick off at 9 am, with the option of participating in the 1-mile Art Walk or the 5K Art Run. Bring your furry canine friends at no additional cost! All dogs must be up to date on all shots and have no aggression issues with people or dogs.

Join us for a fun morning of connecting with friends -- furry and human. Pick your way to participate:

Art Run - 5K at a 10-minute-mile pace, with stops for photos (and sniffing!) along the way. Learn about some of Chicago's best street art and have fun at this relaxed running event. The route begins and ends at Buckingham Fountain (on the west side) at Grant Park.

Art Walk - 1 mile walking at a relaxed pace, with stops for photos (and sniffing!) along the way. Learn about some of Chicago's best street art and have fun at this relaxed running event. The route begins and ends at Buckingham Fountain (on the west side) at Grant Park.

Virtual Run/Walker - Join the fur fam from anywhere! Walk 1 mile or run 5K in support of rescue dogs in need.

Half of all ticket proceeds and 100% of donations go to Big East Akita Rescue. B.E.A.R. is a 501(c)3 charitable Akita rescue group in the United States that does hands-on rescue and is totally manned by volunteers. BEAR was founded in 2011 by a small group of concerned Akita owners and volunteers that wanted to help the breed due to the number of Akitas in need in the metropolitan Tri-State area of NY, NJ, PA, and also throughout the Northeast.

Runstreet Art Runs bring together communities through running and street art. Our mascot is rescue Akita Kiyoshi🐕, who Runstreet founder Marnie adopted in 2020. Kiyoshi developed a cancerous tumor shortly after adoption and had life-saving surgery to remove it from her jaw. She has another chronic health condition, EPI (pancreatic insufficiency) which is managed with special enzymes and diet. Kiyoshi has continued to bring inspiration, strength, and laughs to everyone she encounters. Follow @Runstreet Instagram and check out Runstreet.com for more on Kiyoshi, Art Runs, and fitness training.
