With the increase of crimes and attacks on women recently in NYC, it is safer to run in a pack. Runstreet is leading community Wolf Pack training runs in Brooklyn to allow women and anyone who feels unsafe running alone to find strength in numbers.
Let's take back our streets and get in our workouts.
The Monday morning community runs are a 5K route in South Slope, Greenwood, and Gowanus, Brooklyn. Meet at Baked in Brooklyn or meet us along the route loop at any point closest to your home. Once you sign up, you will get more route details and options for meetup points.
The rules:
No one runs alone.
All are welcome and must agree to maintain a safe space free of harassment of any kind. This is a safety group for runners and we reserve the right to ask anyone to leave who does not abide by the rules that protect our runners.
Dogs welcome! There will be a security dog on most of the runs.
Allies welcome! Anyone who wants to help promote safety for runners is welcome. People with security training, leadership skills, fitness training, and anyone who wants to support the mission are welcome. We are looking for volunteers to help expand the group run schedule and to help maintain a safe environment.
