Runstreet, MTAR, and Harlem Run are teaming up with global art nonprofit Not a Crime to present an incredible art run through Harlem! We will go on a beautiful 4-mile running tour of stunning Harlem street art, including murals by artists around the globe. Alison Mariella Désir, captain of Harlem Run, will lead a walking tour as well.
The run will be at a relaxed pace (10-minute mile), with stops for photos along the way.
As with all Runstreet art runs, we will have a photo contest for most creative shot. Post your photos and tag @runstreet, @mtar_crew and @notacrime to enter the contest:). And speaking of photos, Runstret photographer Filles + Garcons will be snapping amazing pics of our run.
All participants will also get complimentary tickets to the Museum of the City of New York. Proceeds will go to Not a Crime.
Not a Crime specifically aims to raise awareness about the Bahai's in Iran who are denied access to education by the Iranian government because of their religious beliefs in gender equality and the importance of education. Through murals, that campaign hopes to raise awareness while advocating education for all people around the world, regardless of race, religion, sex, nationality or sexual orientation. International street artists have come together to paint Harlem with incredible new murals to promote education for all.
