Daydream 5K Art Run & Festival Hits Chicago

The second annual Daydream 5K Art Run and Festival kicked off in Chicago this year, following a smashing inaugural Daydream Festival in Brooklyn last year. Both Daydream events were sponsored by Clif Bar, serving up healthy, organic eats for runners at our events and continuing to support Runstreet and local artists.

The Daydream 5K & Festival included the magic of our Brooklyn event, with many a unicorn in attendance, face painting by local makeup artists, games, giveaways, and refreshments from Clif Bar, fresh juice from Belli’s Chicago and delicious eats from the one and only Empanada Bike. Local Chicago art gallery Pilsen Outpost provided a beautiful setting for the event, complete with colorful works of art created by Chicago artists for sale at the event.

Local makeup artists Nicole Kubiesa and Syd Genco created the magical makeup looks for the runners. Pilsen resident guide Luis Tubens served as the lead pacer and local art expert, with the help of Runstreet founder Marnie Kunz and pacer Tom Leddy. Chicago Runstreet City Leader Laura Rizzo helped organize the whole event.

Thank you to Pilsen Outpost for opening their gallery to us and offering such an expansive, beautiful art backdrop and all the hospitality. Check out the Pilsen Outpost gallery online, and definitely stop by to see amazing local artists’ works and participate in Pilsen community art events at the gallery if you get the chance.
