Star Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Pros: Comfortable, flexible, supportive, attractive, lightweight
Runner: Colleen White
As an avid marathon runner, I go through several pairs of shoes a year. My most recent purchase was a pair of Asics Gel Cumulus Running Shoes. Though I have run in Asics shoes before, this was my first experience with the Cumulus (the Cumulus 13 also come in men’s ). My overall experience has been positive. I have found these shoes to be lightweight and very supportive. I have had some problems with bursitis in my left knee and in the first couple of runs in the new shoes, I could tell that there was enough support in the sole of the shoe to minimize the stress on the joints during my long runs. I felt like I was running on soft cushions.
In addition to being supportive, the Cumulus is a very functional shoe. The toebox is roomy enough to allow for the toes to expand during the toe-off without getting blisters. I have yet to experience the blisters and black toenails that many runners have to go through. The toebox is also made from a mesh material which allows for the foot to breathe while running.
The Asics Gel Cumulus Running Shoe has been a great shoe for me. It’s supportive, functional and attractive. It’s only downfall is that you will have to spend $100 or possibly more to own these awesome shoes.
